2nd person is weird. You almost never see it. But for captions it almost works better than 1st person. It's also really fun.

At first I tried writing in the 3rd person because I tend to prefer reading in the 3rd person. I wrote half a dozen or so 3rd person captions, it was a struggle and they sucked. They might eventually see the light of day, with a lot of rewrites and edits. But until I feel like taking another swing at 3rd person I'll be leaning hard on 1st Person captions, they almost write themselves and seem to work better generally.

FIRST POST: Suckwood

So I've been thinking about starting my own blog for a while. Even moreso since Wes dropped off the map (what happened to Wes? Wes, if you're out there come back) since I especially loved Wes's captions.
For a first post I made something of a canon that I can lean on that still gives me plenty of freedom. I'm not sure how much I'll be referring to this but I like having it because it places my captions in a wider context that is reasonably unique to me.
